Space Technology for Rehabilitation - Congress report of the Mexican Association for Rehabilitation Medicine

From 20th until 23rd October the XXI "Congres Mexicano de Medicina de Rehabiltaión" took place at the Hilton Hotel in Cancun. Around 1.200 doctors and specialists from the area of physical therapy attended the congress.For the first time the intermittend negative pressure therapy with the VACUSPORT was introduced to the Central American society. Rudolf Weyergans personally gave a lecture with the topic „Aerospace Technology in Rehabilitation“. The focus was on the acceleration of the rehabilitation time after sports injuries and accidents. Also the application of the innovative therapy which was originally developed for manned aerospace travels, in the post-operative aftertreatment after endoprosthesis as well as the care of paraplegic was introduced.
On the exhibition the participants of the rehabilitation congress took the opportunity to get to know and try the innovative intermittent negative pressure therapy. On the pictures you see Mrs. Rosi Bruce from Bruce Medica, Mexico – City.
